Art Gallery Vanda presents a photo exhibition “Nature and Architecture” by German-based artist Pjotr Filin.
Pjotr Filin was born in Tbilisi. After three years of studying at the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic Institute of Georgia, he continued his studies at the Moscow Institute of Architecture (МАРХИ).
After receiving a PHD in architecture, Pjort Filin moved to Germany in the 1990s, where he still lives and works successfully to this day.
Photography became his fascination during student years and still remains an integral part of his life. The main topics of his photo shoots are architecture and landscape, mainly of cities where he lived for many years. He uses both traditional black and white photography as well as various complex technologies: Lith printing, scanning of negatives, gelatin silver photo process, etc.
Pjotr Filin has participated in over 30 group exhibitions and also has held 11 solo exhibitions in Germany, Italy, Poland, USA and Georgia. His works are kept in private collections of different countries.
“Nature and Architecture” is his third solo show in Georgia, which includes about 50 works created by the photographer between 2001-2022.
