Gallery “Vanda” (formerly “Hobby”) – one of the first private galleries in Georgia, is situated in the historic Old Tbilisi district of Sololaki. It was established in 1993, by Vanda and Aleksander Mujiri.
From the very first day, the mission of the gallery has been to popularize Georgian art, and for many years, “Vanda” has been fulfilling this mission by taking part in international festivals such a ArtExpo New York, Art Basel Miami, Deco-In Berlin, Ankara Art Fair, Art Manezh Moscow, Art Kyiv, International Art Festival in Boston, Cultural Village Foundation – Katara, Doha, Qatar, Tbilisi Art Fair 2018 etc.
Gallery “Vanda” is working with over 100 artists, many of whom it represents exclusively. Aditionally, the gallery cooperates with foreign authors and galleriesand participates in large scale international projects.
Alongside renowned authors, the gallery works with young and up-and-coming artists, Academy students, searches for new talent and facilitates their development. For 15 years, this has been the aim of the gallery’s annual “Golden Palete” event, which is one the largest children’s art show-competitions in the country, where over 200 little artists take part from not just Tbilisi but all over the rest of Georgia as wel.
Apart from personal and group exhibitions, “Vanda” gallery conducts charity shows and auctions, and has extensive knowledge and experience of compiling personal and corporate collections. By monitoring every important event in the global art market, the gallery offers detailed and exhaustive consulting services for collectors and other interestes parties.
