Gallery "Vanda" will host Kristine Kakabadze's exhibition, Fragments, starting March 28. The exposition brings together recent paintings and graphic works created by the artist.
Kristine Kakabadze's creative biography includes numerous group and solo exhibitions both in Georgia and abroad.
Fragments consists of realistic illustrations depicting a mostly peaceful, idyllic, yet already fragmented existence. It serves as a reminder that war and hatred exist in our world. In these paintings, every detail holds significance. The details are simple, delicate, and elusive; the background—an incongruous, uncertain, silent space.
This silent space is a place of fears, transience, vulnerability, and pain, yet it is something we must still treasure and protect. Much like a child who carefully holds a cup of tea with delicate hands so as not to spill it. For me, this exhibition is a search for light artistic forms of sadness, hopelessness, and existence.
