Gia Japaridze - 80

Art Gallery Vanda presents the anniversary retrospective exhibition of the distinguished Georgian sculptor Gia Japaridze, opening on November 14 at 18:00.

The exhibition traces Gia Japaridze’s long creative journey, showcasing some of his finest works from different periods. The gallery will feature both early and recent sculptures, as well as paintings and graphic works.

Gia Japaridze stands among the prominent figures of Georgian sculpture. His art unites traditional forms with a modern artistic vision. The sculptor’s expressive language is a personal interpretation of Georgian cultural heritage, marked by the expressiveness of form, where matter itself becomes a bearer of human emotion. Recurring themes in his work include the human figure, as well as mythological and folkloric motifs.

His sculptures enrich the public spaces of various cities across Georgia, while his works are preserved in museum and private collections both in Georgia and abroad.
