LAYERS | Zurab Gikashvili

On February 28 at 6:00 PM, the solo exhibition Layers by Zurab Gikashvili will open at Vanda Art Gallery. The exhibition presents a selection of paintings created by the artist between 2020 and 2026. The display brings together canvases of various formats, where the coexistence of color, textural, and emotional layers forms a unified visual space. The title Layers symbolically refers to both the technical and conceptual multiplicity within the works. Each canvas serves as a kind of visual archive of time, experience, and memory, transforming the perception of reality into an emotional interpretation. The painterly layers function not only as a technical method but also as a narrative instrument - creating a dialogue between the inner world and external reality. The works on view reveal the artist’s approach to form and space, where every detail becomes an organic part of the overall concept. Layers offers visitors the opportunity to witness the artist’s creative evolution and explore new directions in his vision. The exhibition provides an intimate yet intense visual experience, engaging with themes of time, memory, and personal history.
